It's a crisp Wednesday morning around 6.30 am and I am off to see the Hellacopters.Morlaix (where I live) is on the north-west side of France so it's around six hours to hit Paris.

With all the roads being expressways it's really not that long at all. I had already e-mailed the Copters manger to see about taking photos etc and he said it would be ok as long as we arrived in time for the sound check so he could give us a pass.

Everything went according to plan and we arrived in perfect time and we well received.

Elysee Monmartre it situated in the 18th quarter of Paris and is right next to Pigalle and the Moulin Rouge, so all can say is that the quarter just never closes. The venue is great and a really good light and sound system ensure the band looks and sounds good.

The only problem in Paris is the sound limiter for the venues. Certain venues have problems with noise so they are limited to the number of decibels. This venues electricity switches off if the bands goes over the limit so groups must be careful.

Anyway onto the show...

The support group who I never heard of hit the stage and I must say were not really suited for a Hellacopters support. If Oasis were playing it would have been perfect as the were more in the words POP for me.

I listened to half the set and then drank beers for the rest of the set.

Hellacopters Arrive!!

From start to finish these guys impress me. The ease into the show with a couple from the new album and then mix it up with oldies and newies. What i like is that they played a song of every album which I think is great for fans wanting to hear everything.

All in all a great show but wait......"Kick Out The Jams Motherfuckers" for the encore in which they introduce the band and each member gets to have a little play by themselves.

The audience enjoyed it , I enjoyed it and went home the next day happy.

Check out the www.hellacopters.com website as it has been totally revamped and it's awesome for info on the band.
