GHOULS GONE WILD - Various Artists (Poptown Records)
Shit fuck punk ass rock 'n' roll comp! It's a varied ride with old bands and new hands.

It opens with the ugliest band in rock 'n' roll, Electric Frankenstein, yelling in your face with amps cranked. Then it's over to the Voluptious Horror of Karen Black who sleaze it up (happy couple they are). Then '50s retards Rezurex take us into outer space on "Devil Woman From Outer Space", while Psyhco Charger shoot up some redneck zombies and eat 'em like the Cramps cooked fried chicken or something.

Dictators drummer Thunderbolt Patterson and bandmate Ross the Boss on guitar nail the '50s with the instro' "Thunderbolt Theme", while the Scared Stiffs try to fuck a black-haired girl.

The song that's one of my favourites off this comp is this track called "The Beast With 5 Hands" by the Groovie Ghoulies. Very sweet. The Other sing about the "Hyde Inside". Hopefully they let him out to play (sounds like they do).

Helios Creed, probably the heaviest band on this comp, lament the sandbox. Krissteen sing about whips and it makes me horny. Heavy cunts the She Wolves crank out a track called "Desire". It's very sweet but I'm sure they ain't.

Calabrese drag us into the phantasmagoria, very quickly with down strokes all the way. Thee Merry Widows sing about "Alieen"; I think she's the hooker who got the chop after she shot some jocks. Nice topic. Garage fuck-ups The Mugshots get pissed in hell, and make it fun. The Young Werewolves take us on a junk-fuelled zombie car chase. Oh yeah!!

Aptly-named Frankenstien sing about the city of people and Bernie Torme ends it off with an out of place (but I like it) acoustic/power ballad called "Howling At The Moon". A tie for my other favourite track.

I dunno if this record's gonna change your life, or if you want your life changed anyway, but if you want something to throw on and drink beer to or are looking for some new sounds from an American garage-pop-punk label here's the shit. Now get a fuck up you, ass rabbit. - Ashley "Oz Rock" Thomson
