Mick Harvey 2022

If Ash Naylor is Australian rock and roll’s Mr Everywhere for holding down spots in The Stems, Paul Kelly’s band, The Church and his own outfit Ash Naylor’s Spaceship, elder statesman Mick Harvey can lay claim to being its Busiest Utility Player.

Harvey has played with The Birthday Party, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Crime & the City Solution, his own bands and more recently with The Saints ’74-78 and now adds The Cruel Sea to his resume.

The Cruel Sea kick off their national theatre tour this week and Harvey is  joining on keyboard, percussion, and backing vocals for all shows,  except Mandurah in Western Australia. They're touring their new album “Straight Into The Sun” and are criss-crossing Australia for eight dates.

Harvey already divides his time between Melbourne and Europe so he's already road-worthy. He'll rejoin The Saints '74-'78 when they start their world tour in Glasgow, Scotland on May 3. Harvey is fresh from an April tour of Europe with Mexcican singer Amanda Acevedo in April, on the back of a joint album “Golden Mirrors (The Uncovered Sessions Vol 1)”, a collection of covers of songs of American folk singer Jackson C .Frank.
